Grapevine, Roger H, Chair
My name is Roger Hightower alcoholic and Area 26 Grapevine Chair I would like to thank districts 26, 31, 33 and 34 for hosting this assembly. I'd also like to thank little Gary for chairing the Grapevine committee meeting yesterday. Because of my work schedule, I was unable to attend. There were eight people who attended, two of them were new to the area meeting. It was discussed to give the DCMs of each district a free one-year subscription to give to their Grapevine Reps for their districts. What better way to carry the message? A motion was made, everybody discussed it and voted--It passed eight to eight to bring to the Area body. Another motion was voted on and passed eight to eight to get the Grapevine to report on who is subscribing in our Area 26, in our districts and in our groups to see what their standings are. So we can help carry the message better to them. We just want to find out where the weakest spots are. Just published the latest book from the Grapevine is a Emotional Sobriety. It contains stories from the Grapevine on long-term recovery and the path to peace. To read a selection from this new book of the www.aagrapevine.org. The Grapevine would like to apologize for any delay in mailing the September and October issue of the magazine. Construction in the office has set correspondents back a bit, but they are happy to say the magazines are getting to subscribers right on time. The 2006 reader survey: Grapevine readers responding in amazing numbers! * Aid to sobriety: 85% of responders said the Grapevine is an essential must read or very valuable. * High approval: 86% of responders are very satisfied with the Grapevine. * Instant gratification: 49% of responders began reading the great find the day they received it. * Giving it away to keep it: 65% of readers gave a Grapevine subscription to others. The 2007 wall calendars and Pocket planners are in and I have some if anyone is interested in buying them. They are four dollars for the pocket planners and $8.50 for the wall calendars. The price for the 50 pack of Grapevines has changed to $30 plus six dollars for shipping. Would everyone who attended the meeting yesterday, please stand and be recognized? Thank you for letting me serve and another thank you to little Gary for helping out.
