OWENDBORO HOST COMMITTEE (Jeff N.)
no report given this quarter BOWLING GREEN HOST COMMITTEE (Chris T) Presented to: The Area 26 Assembly Presented by: Chris T. Chairmen Bowling Green Host Committee Presented At: Hopkinsville, Kentucky The Bowling Green host committee is moving forward with establishing the program for the 2008 State Convention. The program we are pursuing shall follow closely the format of the last convention we hosted in 2002. The committee has already completed the procurement requirements for the facilities to be used for the 2008 Kentucky State Convention of Alcoholics Anonymous. As of August 23rd we had signed the papers that finalized our reservation of the Sloan Convention Center as the sight for the 2008 Convention. We also, on that same date, entered into an agreement with the Holiday Inn, University Plaza to act as the host hotel for this event. These are the same facilities that we used for the 2002 Kentucky State Convention that was also held in Bowling Green. The dates for the 2008 State Convention will be February 8th, 9th and 10th. Room rates for the host hotel will be $89.00 per night. The hotel will begin taking room reservations after 02/08/07. When making an advance reservation for this event please state that you are reserving the room for the Kentucky State AA convention, this will assure you getting this special rate. The Bowling Green Host Committee currently meets on the third Sunday of each month at the District 3 Central Office. There are some "early bird" flyers, available as an information source, in the registration area for this assembly. Please take one back to your home group. We sincerely hope that as many of you as possible plan on attending this event in Bowling Green. LOUISVILLE HOST COMMITTEE—James G. As the new chairperson for the Louisville Host Committee, I would like to thank District 26, 31, 33, and 34 for hosting this weekend. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Area 26 for participating in the 6Xh Southeastern Conference in August and a big thanks to the standing committee for their display and for the workshops. The conference was a big success and now we are gearing for the Fall City Convention on May 11-13 at the Executive West. Everything will be finalized and more information will be available at the meeting in Frankfort, KY in January. Yours in service, James G. LEXINGTON/CENTRAL KENTUCKY HOST COMMITTEE (Eileen O.) Co-Chair, John M. gave report The next Committee meeting is set for Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at 300 West Vine Street in downtown Lexington. The 2007 Convention is set for February 16, 17 and 18, 2007 in Lexington at the Convention Center, with the theme "We Are Responsible." Registration costs will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The Hyatt Regency is our host hotel and will give a room rate for those attending the Convention of $90 for single, double, triple or quad occupancy. Additional rooms will be available at the Radisson Hotel at a slightly higher rate. We have completed the first mailing and have planned the second mailing for early November. Flyers and registration cards are available here today. Please encourage attendance. Eileen O., Chair 2007 Host Committee The local host committee agreed that having a State Convention Committee functioning at the Area level would be of great help to us as a committee. Talked about mailing registrations ---not on his written report
