Kentuckiana Newsletter Report

My name is Mike and I'm an alcoholic. I'm also your trusted servant and chairperson of the Kentuckiana newsletter committee. The newsletter committee wishes to thank districts 26, 31, 33 and 34 for hosting this area meeting. At the last area meeting I requested 15 or 20 of those with strong opinion about its content to attend this area committee meeting to participate. I want to thank the four AA members who attended the newsletter committee meeting yesterday. Over the past three months we have received 71 new requests for subscriptions to the newsletter. (66, free e-mail subscription, five paid.) The 66 free e-mail requests came via the louisvilleaa.org hyperlink the Louisville Intergroup placed on its web site. We have asked for this to be done on all area Intergroup and district web sites to give all those who visit these web sites an opportunity to subscribe.

I gave a short, nervous and stuttering presentation at the “printed word” workshop at the Southeast conference. I'll also be giving a workshop on the newsletter next Saturday at the serenity club in E- town. I hope to do a better and more relaxed job. Kentuckiana newsletter needs your input and stories. Remember that your contribution helps towards a possible recovery of another alcoholic. We now have over 200 e-mail subscriptions to the newsletter. Yet when we asked all of them for their thoughts and stories of gratitude we received the work of 13 short stories on gratitude. I can only speak for myself, but since getting sober, I have found something to be grateful for every day and have made no qualms about sharing my gratitude. I would like to ask any of you that have not already contributed, to share your message of gratitude by sending it to us at Kentuckiananewsletter@yahoo.com by Friday for publication in the newsletter coming out November 1.
