Cathy B., Registrar This past quarter has kept me busy with giving leads at two occasions. I spoke at the Special Needs workshop at the Southeast Regional Conference in Louisville on August 10, and at a service workshop held in Lexington on September 17. Our delegate, Darryl M. was part of the service workshop, sponsored by Districts 15 and 28. Record keeping for this quarter has been minimal. I have updated all records sent to me by the D.C.M's. I will do more updates after this meeting and send them to GSO sometime in November. GSO has sent me a packet of group information sheets for which the status is unsure. I’ll be passing these sheets along to the D.C.M's this weekend. GSO has asked that these sheets be updated and sent directly to them by Friday, November 10, 2006. I have mailing labels to pass along with these papers. I’m enclosing a copy of the letter sent to me by GSO with my report: With gratitude, Cathy B. SUBMITTED THIS LETTER WITH REPORT: Sept. 25, 2006 General Service Office of AA Grand Central Station P.O. Box 459 New York, NY 10163 FAX: 212-870-3003 Dear Area Record Keeper, Once every two years or so the General Service Office performs a sweep of the database for groups that have the status designation of Active/Unknown; that status designation means the group is active but has no GSR, Alternate GSR, or mail contact on record. Without a contact person a group is not receiving the periodic mailings sent out by the GSO and eliminates groups from being listed in the annual directories. (There must be a name and phone number attached to the group in order to have the group's information published) In an effort to update the missing contact information we are reaching out to you as the Area Record keeper to assist the GSO in the collection of this information. Enclosed with this letter, you will find the Group Information Sheets for each group in your area that does not have a GSR, Alternate GSR or mail contact attached to it. We ask that you pass these sheets to the DCM's and have them attempt to locate the group information. Groups that are active but remain without a contact will remain in the GSO's database in the Active/Unknown status. We ask that the updated Group Information Sheets be returned to the GSO Records Department by Friday, November 10th, 2006. Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation with this monumental project. Sincerely, Records Department of the GSO
