Every two years, each of the 93 Areas of Alcoholics Anonymous elects a representative who votes on the Area’s behalf at the annual General Service Conference. This representative is called the Area’s “Delegate.”
The Annual General Service Conference (GSC)
In all its proceedings, the General Service Conference shall observe the spirit of the A.A. Tradition, taking great care that the Conference never becomes the seat of perilous wealth or power; that sufficient operating funds, plus an ample reserve, be its prudent financial principle; that none of the Conference Members shall ever be placed in a position of unqualified authority over any of the others; that all important decisions be reached by discussion, vote, and whenever possible, by substantial unanimity; that no Conference action ever be personally punitive or an incitement to public controversy; that though the Conference may act for the service of Alcoholics Anonymous, it shall never perform any acts of government; and that, like the Society of Alcoholics Anonymous which it serves, the Conference itself will always remain democratic in thought and action.

A message from your Panel 76 Area 26 Delegate: Kaitie S.
Dear Area 26 Trusted Servants and Members,
My name is Kaitie Skinner, and I am incredibly grateful (and honestly still a little amazed) to introduce myself as your newly elected Delegate for Area 26, Panel 76. Alcoholics Anonymous saved my life, and being trusted with this opportunity to serve is something I do not take lightly. I am deeply honored and very much looking forward to the next two years of listening, learning, and growing together.
In the spirit of this year’s General Service Conference theme, Humility in Action, I come to this role knowing I don’t have all the answers—but I truly believe the answers live in our Fellowship. Part of my job, as I see it, is to listen well, stay reachable, and help make sure your voices are heard.
As we move into Panel 76, there are several things coming up that I hope you’ll keep an eye out for. In the months ahead, I’ll be sharing updates regarding the General Service Conference (Agenda, Background, reports, etc.), board and trustee communications, and any other opportunities for input and information. My goal is to keep communication flowing in both directions, make general service work feel accessible and relevant, and help us stay engaged with the year-round conference cycle in ways that feel useful—not overwhelming. More to come soon.
I genuinely want to hear from you—your ideas, questions, concerns, hopes, and yes, even your frustrations. If there is any way I can be of service to your group or district (sharing information, answering questions, attending events, or just being a person you can reach out to) please know I am here. Please save my contact info below:
I am honored to share that I have been assigned to serve on the Conference Literature Committee as my primary committee for the 76th General Service Conference, and the ICRF (International Convention/Regional Forums) Conference Committee as my secondary committee. I feel truly grateful for these assignments, and my communication has already begun with the chairs of both of these committees.
Thank you for trusting me to serve as your Delegate. I am grateful beyond words, excited beyond reason, and committed to doing this work with humility, honesty, and a sense of humor—because if AA taught me anything, it’s that we can do serious work and still laugh along the way.
It’s an honor and a privilege,
Kaitie S.
