Within Area 26 of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Pink Can supports statewide Correctional Facilities Committee service efforts by providing funds for literature distribution to facilities. The Pink Can is designed to supplement, rather than replace, the traditional 7th Tradition basket passed at meetings.
At the 2026 Winter Meeting, Area 26 voted to expand the method of contribution by allowing Pink Can donations to be accepted electronically through PayPal for a trial period of two years, to be evaluated at the October 2027 Assembly. This decision was reached by substantial unanimity and modernizes the contribution process, allowing members and groups to support Corrections literature efforts even when they are not physically present at meetings where the Pink Can is traditionally passed.
