Helping to Carry the Message Online

Over the past several months, the Area 26 website has continued to grow as a more useful, current, and service-oriented resource for our members, groups, districts, committees, and visitors. The goal of this work is simple: to make it easier for people to find accurate information, stay connected with Area 26 service, and share updates that help carry the message.
One of the most visible additions is the new Area 26 News and associated Subscription feature. This gives us a dedicated place to post updates, announcements, committee information, service opportunities, and other items that are helpful to the Fellowship. Along with the News section, we now have a news post submission process, which allows trusted members and service representatives to submit information for review and publication. This helps keep the website current while also giving districts, committees, and service groups a clearer path for sharing important information. Those wishing to subscribe to browser notifications are automatically notified when a news post is added.
We have also improved how events are added to the website. Area 26 now imports events from participating intergroups, helping members find more local and regional events in one place. This is an important step toward reducing duplication, improving consistency, and making sure events are easier to discover. As more intergroups and service bodies share information in usable formats, the website can continue becoming a stronger central resource for Area 26 activities.
Another major update is the refreshed District Meeting Places page. This page helps members locate district meeting information more easily and supports districts in keeping their service meeting details accurate. As district information changes, this page can be updated so that members know where and when district service meetings are held.
In addition to these larger website improvements, I have been working with several committee chairs to update and improve their pages. Recent examples include updates to the CPC Committee page, Delegate’s Corner, and the Pink Can Fund information for the Corrections Committee. These pages are important because they help explain the work being done in Area 26 and give members a clearer way to participate in service.
Finally, every page on the website now includes a “Problem or Suggestion?” link at the bottom. This link gives members a simple way to report outdated information, broken links, technical issues, or ideas for improving the site. The website is only as useful as the information it contains, and member feedback is one of the best ways to keep it accurate and helpful.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted updates, reviewed pages, shared event information, or reported problems. The Area 26 website is not just a technology project. It is a service tool. With continued participation from districts, committees, intergroups, and members, we can communicate more clearly and better support our primary purpose.
